OUR HISTORY
After fleeing Italy in 1935, the newly-wed couple arrived on the shores of Sao Paulo, where Messias immediately found employment as a dockhand, and Teresinha worked from their modest home making tailored garments.

Once settled into the newfound culture the young couple decided to move to north into Minas Gerais to pursue agriculture. With the funds from his time as a dock hand and the proceeds from garments the couple purchased their first property in Manhumirim, by the late 1940s Roberto was running a successful butcher-shop, running a small herd of cattle to supply his shop. While his business was thriving the amount of land owned by Roberto greatly exceed his grazing activities and thus Minas Coffee was born.
MARLON & SONIA
While the times have changed and coffee has come a long way from its humble origins. The tradition and love for coffee has never left us at Minas Coffee.
Marlon and Sonia whom chose to continue the Hilberto family tradition, aim to make of the industry what they believe the industry should really be, an industry which farmers and consumers are able to share experiences and stories while managing our finite resources through sustainable farming and ethical and fair treatment of workers.
